A 20-year-old woman was stabbed to
death in the street in Messina in Sicily on Monday.
She was said to be a trainee nurse. She was not immediately
named.
The incident took place outside the city's sports stadium.
According to initial reconstructions, the woman was stabbed in
the neck by a young man who then fled. She was transferred to
the Policlinico Hospital in serious condition but the doctors'
attempts to save her life were in vain.
