RAI's board on Wednesday approved
CEO Fabrizio Salini's nominations for top news-service positions
at the State broadcaster.
Giuseppe Carboni is the new head of the TG1 news service of
the State broadcaster's flagship RAI1 channel.
Gennaro Sangiuliano takes over RAI2's TG2 news service, with
Giuseppina Parteniti nominated for TG3 and Luca Mazzà for RAI's
Radio section.
The nominations were approved with five votes in favour and
one against.
The centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) has accused
the League and the 5-Star Movement (M5S) of "occupying" the top
RAI posts, a charge the two government partners reject.
