The Interministerial Committee for
Digital Transition met for the second time on Thursday to
discuss a new Ultra-Broadband Strategic Plan contemplating
investments reportedly worth 2.8 billion euros.
The revised plan, which aims to extend access to ultra-fast
internet across Italy, is reportedly divided into four areas of
intervention with a total of 25 initiatives, and will use
savings from the EU-funded post-Covid National Recovery and
Resilience Plan to make Italy's economy greener and more
technological.
The committee also reportedly discussed the timeframe for
digital identity, the electronic health record (ehr), and took
an in-depth look at artificial intelligence.
The meeting was chaired by Innovation Undersecretary Alessio
Butti.
