Premier Giorgia Meloni told a rally
of her rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party in video-link
with a Rome theatre marking one year of government Sunday that
she was a human being and asked for understanding after her
painful split from partner and TV presenter Andrea Giambruno,
the father of her seven-year-old daughter, over sexist remarks
he made off-air.
"I do not know what time I will return to Italy, I am not sure
if I will be able to be physically with you," she said on the
video, recorded on the sidelines of a Cairo peace summit
Saturday.
"I too am a human being and if there is anyone I can ask for
understanding from, it is the sympathisers, representatives,
militants and leaders of FdI".
