A pathological thief has asked
Italian police to arrest him in order to stop his criminal
compulsion.
The 24-year Italian went to a Milan police station last Tuesday
and asked the officers to detain him to stop a stream of thefts
of cosmetic and home and clothing cleaning products that started
in mid October and continued until last Sunday.
Police said he had approached them "because of the fear of not
being able to free himself from this impulse and because of the
great sense of guilt he felt."
