Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni is
among the leaders set to take part in a meeting on European
security and Ukraine in Paris on Monday, sources at French
President Emmanuel Macron's office said on Sunday.
Macron has called the meeting amid concerns that U.S. President
Donald Trump could make a deal with Russian President Vladimir
Putin to end the war in Ukraine that undermines Kyiv and
European security.
Sources at Macron's office said he would "hold an informal
meeting tomorrow afternoon with the heads of government of
Germany, UK, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark".
The sources said the aim was to "initiate consultations between
European leaders on the situation in Ukraine and the security
issues in Europe," adding that European Commission President
Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte would
also attend.
