Premier Giorgia Meloni said Sunday she
was very worried about US tariffs sparking an escalation that
would weaken everyone but sure that a deal could be found.
"We are very worried about duties, we are an exporting nation we
all realize that it would be a problem because if there were
duties the EU would respond" but "it would be an escalation that
weakens us all, I believe that solutions can be found on this
too that are not about breaking but about agreement", Meloni
told the press at the residence of the Italian ambassador in
London at the end of the summit on Ukraine.
"We are talking to a dealer who thinks about deals, we must
think about deals", she said, referring to US President Donald
Trump.
