President Sergio Mattarella on
Thursday called Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi to voice sympathy
and solidarity with local people who were forced out of their
homes after an earthquake that caused some damage and left one
man slightly hurt.
Mattarella expressed "closeness" to the city and the Neapolitans
and wanted, speaking directly with the mayor, to ascertain the
state of the situation, ANSA sources said.
At the end of the conversation, Mayor Manfredi thanked the Head
of State for his attention to the city.
