Italy's public debt rose again in
January but remained below the 3 trillion mark touched in
November last year, according to figures released on Friday by
the Bank of Italy.
The debt in January rose by 14.8 billion euros from the previous
month to reach 2,980.5 billion euros, the Bank of Italy said.
The increase reflected a rise in the Treasury's liquid assets
(12.3 billion, to 49.9) and the public administration's
requirements (2.9 billion).
