Pope Francis will return to governing the Catholic Church after his 38-day hospital fight against pneumonia but perhaps not as before the health crisis that twice had doctors fearing for his life, Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said Thursday.
"It seems to me that the Pope is well connected with the entire Church and with all the faithful: this has been demonstrated by all the demonstrations of affection and above all prayer with which he has been accompanied throughout the days of his illness and which continue", Parolin said on the sidelines of the works of the 'Chair of Welcome' at the Fraterna Domus in Sacrofano near Rome, responding to journalists on the health conditions of Pope Francis.
"I continually receive messages from people who say precisely 'we are praying for the Pope, we are praying for his full recovery, for his full re-establishment so that he can return to carry out his activity, to govern the Church'.
"Maybe not like before, we will have to find different ways but one in which he is still able to do it".
