Pope Francis's condition has shown
"slight improvements in respiratory and motor functions, as well
as in his speech", the Vatican said on Friday.
The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff returned to the Casa Santa
Marta residence inside the Vatican on Sunday after spending 38
days in Rome's Gemelli hospital due to bilateral pneumonia.
Vatican Press Office Director Matteo Bruni told journalists that
the Pope's health was stable and he continues to gradually
reduce the amount of high-flow oxygen through nasal cannulas
during the day, accompanied by a slight reduction at night.
According to blood tests carried out on Wednesday, the Pope's
hematological parameters are normal, he said.
Pope Francis continues to alternate between therapy, prayer,
rest, and some work activity, with all Dicasteries of the Roman
Curia sending documents to update him on their activity,
according to Bruni.
