The Italian foreign ministry said
Wednesday that Indian police and security agencies have not
confirmed reports that Italian nationals were among the victims
of Tuesday terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir in which 26
people were killed.
The ministry added that the Indian media organs that had talked
of Italian victims have corrected their reports.
It said Italian officials remained in contact with the Indian
authorities for possible updates, given that the death toll has
not been finalized.
