A benefit concert after the deadly
and devastating floods in Emilia-Romagna will be held in the
town of Reggio Emilia on Saturday June 24, Culture
Undersecretary Gianmarco Mazzi announced Friday.
It will be the first such fund-raising event in the northern
region, where this month's floods have killed 17 people and
caused billions of euros in damage.
"The first fund-raising event that the world of music, with the
support of the Ministry of Culture, will organise in favour of
the flooded populations will be called Italia Loves Romagna and
will be held on Saturday 24 June in the already-equipped
Campovolo show arena in Reggio Emilia," said Mazzi, adding that
"the objectives are twofold, to raise as much money as possible
and to launch an invitation to spend the summer of 2023 in
Romagna, to bring life and help that splendid territory to
recover".
