The second night of the 2025 Sanremo Song Festival attracted an average of 11.7 million viewers or 64.5% of the TV audience share.
The event, hosted by presenter and artistic director Carlo Conti, is broadcast by Rai1 and runs until Saturday.
It was co-hosted by 40-year-old supermodel Bianca Balti, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year, as well as by comedians and TV personalities Nino Frassica and Cristiano Malgioglio.
Former Maneskin frontman Damiano David paid homage to late Bologna singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla with a moving performance of his 1988 song Felicità (Happiness), as the evening's guest star.
The festival made a strong debut on its opening night Tuesday, attracting an average of 12.6 million viewers, or 65.3% of the audience share.
This year's audience includes for the first time small screen viewers who tune in with a personal computer, smart phone or tablet.
Last year, the second night of the popular TV jamboree and song contest had attracted an average of 10.3 million viewers or 60.1% of the TV audience share.
That was slightly lower than the same night in 2023, when average viewers stood at 10.6 million, equal to 62.3% of the share.
