Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove,
who collapsed on the field due to a heart attack last December,
will be a guest of the Sanremo music festival scheduled to open
Tuesday through Saturday, artistic director and presenter Carlo
Conti has confirmed to ANSA.
"Edoardo Bove will be a guest of the Sanremo Festival's final
night", Conti said of the 22-year-old player, who has not yet
been given the all clear to return to action.
The midfielder on December 1 had a heart attack at Florence's
Franchi stadium during a match against Inter Milan which forced
him to have emergency heart surgery.
"I called him to ask whether he would have liked to visit us at
the Festival and he immediately said yes", said Conte.
The 75th edition of the Sanremo festival is scheduled to take
place on February 11-15.
Florence-born Conti, 63, takes over from Ravenna-born Amadeus,
61, who stepped down after five highly successful years
following the 2024 edition of the much-loved TV jamboree and
song contest.
Sanremo is a national institution that inspired Eurovision and
helped launch the careers of many of Italy's top music stars
including Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini and Maneskin.
