Last night, the film 'Gloria' (2024) by Margherita Vicario opened the 2nd edition of the Cinema Made in Italy festival at the Cineplexx of the City Mall in Skopje. The film captivated the numerous spectators with an intense and compelling storyline that, by exploring themes such as passion for music, gender discrimination, female solidarity and rebellion against the obtuse patriarchal yoke, highlights the stories of "women composers who, like dried flowers, have been forgotten in the pages of history".
The film review was presented by the Italian Ambassador to North Macedonia Andrea Silvestri, who recalled the cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, Cineplexx Skopje City Mall and Cinecittà, thanks to which this important initiative dedicated to Italian cinema came to life.
The festival continued today with a double programme: 19:00 - Battlefield (2024), directed by Gianni Amelio, a feature film with a historical setting presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival 2024. 9:00 p.m. - Confidenza (2023), directed by Daniele Luchetti, which received five nominations for the Nastri d'Argento.
