Bocconi University's educational offer and study programmes were illustrated during the 'Bocconi meets Madrid' event this evening at the Palazzo de Amboage, the prestigious headquarters of the Italian Embassy in Spain. The Iberian capital is one of the main career destinations for graduates of the Milanese university. 'One of our country's excellencies', as the deputy head of the diplomatic mission, Benedetto Giuntini, pointed out when welcoming them.
In front of the large audience of prospective students and representatives of the business and educational communities, Chiara Fumagalli, Dean of the Undergraduate School, and Mario Tabarini, Director of Orientation and Recruitment at Bocconi, gave an overview of the academic institution, "present in the top 20 of the main international rankings of university education," since its foundation, as a university specialised in the area of economics and management and, more generally, the social sciences.
Particular emphasis was placed by Fumagalli on the close relationship with the world of work, 'thanks to a network that includes companies, international organisations and institutions in over 70 countries, which gives students and recent graduates the opportunity to participate in internships abroad'. And for which around 96% of graduates are employed one year after graduation.
Maddalena Liccione, president of the Bocconi Alumni Community in Madrid, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, recalled that "Bocconi is not just a university, but a reality that transcends the classroom", due to the "vibrant and dynamic" network of people who are part of the community.
The floor was then passed to students and alumni of the university, who recounted their experiences, before the networking cocktail that closed the evening.
