The Ambassador of Italy to India Antonio Bartoli met a group of young entrepreneurs and start-up founders, 'the future of the country's economy', at the Delhi Residence.
The young leaders present at the meeting, all members of the youth branch of Cii, the Confederation of Indian Industry, operate in leading sectors of the country's economy, from design to manufacturing, from food to Artificial Intelligence to new technologies.
The Indian economy has confirmed itself as the third largest global ecosystem for start-ups thanks to an impressive leap in recent years: according to data from the Department of Industry and Trade Promotion, 159,000 start-ups were registered in India as of 15 January 2025; in 2016 there were just 502.
