The notes of La Traviata, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta, a legendary figure on the world music scene and a native of Mumbai, provided an atmosphere of palpable emotion in the music Gala dedicated to Italy, organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai.
Hosted in the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the concert sold out in just a few days and will be repeated on 9 February.
Among the guests of honour were the Ambassador of Italy to India, Antonio Bartoli, and the Consul General in Mumbai, Walter Ferrara, who witnessed an evening that celebrated Italian cultural excellence and its deep ties with India.
"This concert," said Consul General Walter Ferrara, "is not just a meeting of notes and melodies, but a stage that unites Italy and India through the talent and representation of our artistic excellence."
Making the event even more memorable was the presence of internationally renowned Italian voices Roberta Mantegna and Luciano Ganci, who gave a passionate rendition of the best-known arias from La Traviata.
Through this initiative, the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai confirmed its commitment to the promotion of Italian culture, strengthening the artistic dialogue between Italy and India through music, the universal language of beauty and harmony.
