To coincide with the start of the second school term, the Italian Embassy organised a morning of activities and games at the San Giuseppe primary school in Baghdad, starring the little dog Pimpa, an iconic Italian cartoon character born from the imagination of F. Tullio-Altan. To support the initiative, the young readers were given the books in the Pimpa travels in Italy series in Arabic translation.
In the book, the result of a collaboration between MAECI and the Franco Cosimo Panini publishing house, Pimpa sets off on a journey to discover our country and its extraordinary variety of territories, highlighting its artistic, historical, landscape and gastronomic heritage.
The educational project, aimed at encouraging reading and stimulating curiosity about our country and our culture, was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the school headmistress, the teachers and the over 200 participating children.
