The three-day visit to Mascate by Professor Alba Cappellieri of the Milan Polytechnic on the occasion of the Italian Design Day in Oman ended today. Professor Cappellieri inaugurated the exhibition on Italian jewellery 'Diva!' of which she is curator, on display at the prestigious National Museum of Oman and organised with the contribution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The exhibition, reads a note from the embassy, was opened in the presence of Her Highness Dr. Mona Al Said, Assistant Vice Rector of Sultan Qaboos University.
    During the inauguration speech, the ambassador to Oman, Pierluigi D'Elia, recalled the theme of the 2025 edition of the Italian design day, "inequalities, design for a better life", and highlighted the possible synergies between Italian and Omani designers that are also functional to a revival of craftsmanship and female entrepreneurship in the sultanate.
    Ambassador for 2025 of Italian design in Oman, Professor Cappellieri also held a seminar with Omani academics and young designers and gave a lecture on Italian design at the Oman interior, furniture and design fair being held in Mascate from 10 to 12 February. Accompanied by Ambassador D'Elia, Alba Cappellieri also met with the Minister of University, Research and Innovation, Prof. Rahma Al Mahrouqiyah, with whom possible academic synergies were discussed in the framework of the Omani-Italian protocol on cultural and scientific cooperation.
