Italian Ambassador Paolo Palminteri was received yesterday by North Macedonia's Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani. At the meeting," the Embassy reported in a note, "the Italian government's constant and firm commitment to the integration of North Macedonia into the European Union by 2029 was highlighted, as stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the group of countries 'Friends of the Western Balkans', chaired by Italy.
Addressing heartfelt thanks for Italy's continued support, Minister Murtezani confirmed that North Macedonia remains committed to its European path, including through the implementation of reforms and approximation to European standards, particularly in the areas of rule of law, democracy and human rights.
