"I am delighted to inaugurate the ninth edition of Design Day here in Kazakhstan, which includes two
moments: one dedicated to professors and students at the prestigious KazGASA University in Almaty and the other
dedicated to designers and architects, at the Italian Institute of Culture in Almaty, which is the first in Central Asia,
inaugurated just a year ago'. This was said by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Italian Embassy in Kazakhstan, Aniello
Petito.
"This year's theme is original: Italian design is democratic, popular, and has really made the
life better for millions of people, and this is demonstrated by one very successful example: the iconic Schiscetta, the
world's most famous airtight container, designed and patented by Caimi in 1952. Salvatore Amura is an
excellent design testimonial for Kazakhstan, a country with which Italy enjoys excellent political, commercial and cultural relations,
commercial and cultural relations," concluded the chargé d'affaires.
On Wednesday 12 February 2025 Salvatore Amura gave a lectio magistralis on the theme of inclusive design at KazGASA University for an audience of design and architecture students together with representatives of the institutions involved in the project, and in the presence of the Director of the Institute of Culture, Edoardo Crisafulli, and the Director of the ICE-Trade Agency, Martino Castellani. In the evening at the Institute of Culture a masterclass for Kazakh architects and designers, influencers, and representatives of Italian companies present in Kazakhstan.
Promoted and organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, the Italian Design Day enhances Italian design and Made in Italy all over the world.

Italian Design in the world in Kazakhstan, in Almaty, for the ninth edition of Italian Design Day.
