The fourth edition of the Italy-Tanzania Business Forum was inaugurated in Dar es Salaam. The opening ceremony, which was held at the Julius Nyerere International convention centre, in the presence of Italian and Tanzanian companies and institutions, was attended by Fabrizio Lobasso, deputy central director of the General Directorate for the Country System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci), Mahmoud Kombo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Giuseppe Coppola, Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, among others.
Thanks also to the collaboration of Confindustria, Assafrica e Mediterraneo, Associazione nazionale costruttori edili (Ance), FederUnacoma, and Confindustria meccanica varia (Ucima), as well as the Tanzania Investment Centre (Tic), a programme rich in content and activities has been developed. During the two-day event, Italian companies will be able to present their business realities, developing points of potential interest and partnership opportunities with their Tanzanian counterparts.
"The Business forum is a particularly successful example of integrated promotion. It is rooted in an institutional and associational exercise that has long aimed at Tanzania as a focus country for bilateral exchanges and strategic partnership projects. The objective is to offer Tanzania financial, insurance, and promotional tools to increase its competitiveness in international markets and favour direct exchanges with Italy, which are free from triangulations that could affect the fluidity and performance of industrial and commercial collaboration relations," said Ambassador Coppola.
"They were two weeks full of Italy in Tanzania, which began with the Innova Lab training for 40 local agribusiness companies, followed by the 'Adi Compasso d'Oro' exhibition as part of the World Italian Design Day held in the splendid setting of the National Museum in Dar es Salaam, and finally the business forum. Different moments and activities but with the common denominator of presenting Italian excellence in all its sectors to the Tanzanian public, a good start for a fruitful collaboration between the two countries," commented Giuseppe Manenti, Director of Ice Nairobi.
