The Italian Cultural Institute and the Gramsci Foundation Puglia present the Albanian edition of Antonio Gramsci's essay 'The Southern Question' translated by Alfred Bushi. The changes that have taken place in recent decades have neither eliminated nor dissolved the Southern question, which remains one of the central contradictions of Italian society; in fact, the same difficulties with which the country's economic development clashes, the impossibility of finding work and employment at modern levels for southern workers, the waste of intellectual energies, and the decay in agriculture all originate from it. This makes the importance of these writings, in which Gramsci poses the southern question as a problem that directly affects the responsibilities and the very structure of the state, even clearer.
The presentation of the volume today at 5pm at the Tirana Times Bookshop.
