At a press conference held today at the National Art Museum of Latvia (Mnal) in Riga, the Latvian Minister of Culture, Agnese Lace, the Mayor of Riga, Vilnis Ķirsis, and the Italian Ambassador to Riga, Alessandro Monti, presented two major exhibitions dedicated to Italy, organised with the patronage and support of the Italian Embassy in Riga, which will be held in the halls of the Mnal in 2025.
From 22 May to 24 August, the museum will host 'Italian Arts and Crafts from the 6th to the 19th Century', an exhibition organised in cooperation with Palazzo Madama and Fondazione Torino Musei.
From 5 July to 26 October will instead be the turn of 'Light from Italy.
Da Fattori a Morandi', organised by the Mnal in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries.
"This is truly the year of Italy in Latvia," said Ambassador Alessandro Monti. "At a time of great vitality for Italian and Latvian culture, these exhibitions reflect the creative connection that increasingly links our countries.
"The exhibitions realised with Turin and Florence are a great and effective operation of cultural diplomacy," added the Minister of Culture, Agnese Lace, "which testifies to the excellent relations developed with Italy and which concretely contributes to raising the level of the cultural offer of our capital.
