On Wednesday, the Consulate General of Italy in Buenos Aires and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Argentine Republic presented the fourth edition of Project Fenix, an important initiative in favour of employment and reintegration into the world of work for Italian citizens resident in the country.
The project, explained Consul General Carmelo Barbera at a press conference, was set up after the pandemic in response to the need to assist compatriots hit by the crisis and left without employment, but was then maintained and strengthened in view of the excellent results achieved, with over 220,000 CVs enrolled, 50 companies adhered to and hundreds of work grants awarded.
"Our main need today is for the project to be spread and known, because it has been proven to be a concrete opportunity for integration and reintegration into the world of work for the benefit of our community, for our compatriots, and certainly, above all, for young people," said Barbera.
In turn, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, Claudio Farabola, illustrated some of the figures of the project and the objectives it proposes in its fourth year. 'There are around 600,000 Italians in Buenos Aires and 220,000 CVs have already been uploaded to the platform. Our dream is to get not to 600,000 but at least to 300 and so today the goal is to spread and communicate the initiative,' he explained.
"Many companies would like to have our facility and ours is a free service, so we would like it to be used to the maximum," Farabola added, emphasising that the Fenix.org.ar platform "has enormous potential" and that "much more can be exploited".
