The Italian ambassador to Romania, Alfredo Durante Mangoni, is continuing his territorial visits in the southern part of the country, particularly in the Oltenia region. With a delegation from the embassy, Durante Mangoni went to Slatina, where there was a meeting with the mayor and the president of the district council. At the centre of the exchanges were the opportunities for economic and cultural development between Italy and Romania at regional level and support for the significant Italian industrial presence in the district. The delegation and the ambassador then visited the Prysmian plants, world leader in the electrical wiring and telecommunications sector, and Pirelli Romania, which produces tyres for Formula 1 from Slatina. These companies now employ over 6,000 people and strengthen Romania's role as a technological hub in Europe.
