Italian Ambassador to Delhi Antonio Bartoli and the Secretary of the Indian Government's Department of Science and Technology, Professor Abhayb Karandikar, signed an executive protocol for scientific collaboration between Italy and India in Delhi this morning.
The protocol envisages 20 projects in which Italian institutions collaborate with Indian ones on twelve thematic areas that touch on strategic scientific and technological themes for both countries. Half of the projects concern exchanges of researchers, the others are joint research projects.
On some of these projects, collaboration has already been underway for years, thanks to an agreement signed in 2022 that continues by delving into the areas of innovation, quantum technology, and artificial intelligence, among others.
The signing of the protocol was one of the first moments of the two-day Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum opened today in Delhi, which will be attended tomorrow by Italian ministers Tajani and Bernini.
