"Latin America is a land very connected to Italy, in fact we have so many schools, every state has one and even more than one. So our education
is one of the most important poles on the continent, and they are all well-functioning schools. I have toured them all, first as the school director of the São Paulo consulate, and for nine years as president of the baccalaureate exam commission, and now as the educational coordinator of the school in Lima. They are important schools in the private school scene in Latin America, we have more and more enrolments, and Italian is widespread'. Augusto Bellon, didactic coordinator of the Raimondi parish school in Lima, told ANSA on the sidelines of the conference on Italian schools abroad at the Maxxi.
In Latin America with respect to Italian education 'there is a university attraction, due to costs that are still affordable compared to North American universities, for example, but still of great quality,' Bellon added. And then there is 'classical education: the local community sees in the Italian school an opportunity to give a much more important character to their children,' the manager added.
