The Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas spoke at the Tunisia-Europe Textile Summit in Monastir, on the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Tunisian Textile and Clothing Federation, (Ftth) and the European Federation of National Textile Associations and Trade Unions (Euratex). Also present were the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Fatma Thabet Chiboub, the governor of Monastir, Issa Moussa, and the president. of Ftth, Hatem Bouagila. This was announced by the Italian Embassy on X. "Several decades ago, Italy pioneered investment in textiles in Tunisia. We were among the first to believe in Tunisia's great potential in this sector. Today, around 1/3 of the almost 1,000 Italian companies in the country operate in textiles," said Prunas, adding that "the collaboration in this sector is firmly rooted in the past, but above all, it is projected with determination towards a future of innovation, sustainability and shared growth." Tunisia ranks ninth on the European Union's list of clothing suppliers.
