Chiara Danese, considered a key
witness in the so-called Ruby Ter case in which former
three-time premier and media magnate Silvio Berlusconi is on
trial with 28 other defendants for alleged witness tampering,
testified in tears on Monday that she suffered "psychological
and physical violence" at one of Berlusconi's so-called 'bunga
bunga' parties in 2010.
Danese confirmed her previous testimony from years ago in a
previous trial, one of many stemming from the case of an alleged
underage prostitute nicknamed Ruby.
Danese also said that she had been "threatened by people who
knew what happened (at the bunga bunga parties), I was really
scared, I received them from people who are part of this trial,
they told me 'be careful, watch your back'".
In her testimony, Danese spoke of being threatened by a
former aide to impresario Lele Mora.
Mora, former Berlusconi anchorman Emilio Fede abd the
ex-premier's former dental technician and ex-Lombardy regional
councillor Nicole Minetti have all been convicted of pimping for
media magnate turned politician.
Berlusconi was first convicted and then acquitted of paying
for sex with teen Moroccan runaway and prostitute Ruby the
Hearstealer, whose real name was Kharim El Mahroug.
Berlusconi, who once got parliament to vote that she was the
niece of former Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak, was eventually
cleared of paying her for sex because a court found he did not
know her age, 17 at the time.
