Magistrates union ANM on Tuesday
criticised what it called an "unjustified attack" on Rome
prosecutor Francesco Lo Voi for notifying Premier Giorgia Meloni
notice that she and other officials were under investigation
after a lawyer filed a complaint on the arrest, release and
flight back to Libya of an alleged war criminal wanted by the
International Criminal Court (ICC), Osama Almasri.
The union also said it "stigmatized" the so-called 'lay'
councillors of the judiciary's self governing body the Supreme
Council of Magistrates (CSM) for asking for Lo Voi to be
transferred after the DIS intelligence agency complained of a
leak of confidential information on Meloni's chef de cabinet.
