Italy is analysing the scenario in
Russia after Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin's declaration of
'civil war' in constant contact with its NATO and EU allies, the
office of Premier Giorgia Meloni said Saturday.
Meloni, it said "is following the evolution of the crisis in
Rusdsia and has held a summit with foreign and defence ministers
Antonio Tajani and Guido Crosetto, and cabinet secretaries
Alfredo Mantovano and Giovanbattista Fazzolari.
"The foreign and defence ministries and the intelligence
services, in liaison with the premier's office at Palazzo Chigi,
are analysing the scenario, in constant contact with NATO and
European Union allies".
Wagner militia were reported to be advancing on Moscow after
leaving Ukraine and taking over the strategic city of
Rostov-on-Don near the border.
