Hundreds of Israeli tanks are ready
to roll into Gaza to launch a ground assault on Hamas after he
Islamist militants attacked Israel last Saturday, Deputy Premier
and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Italian TV after his
mission to Israel Friday.
"The situation is very complicated, it's obvious that there is a
great concentration of Israeli troops at the borders with the
Gaza Strip," he told the post-primetime slot Cinque Minuti on
Raiuno.
"I saw very many, hundreds of tanks, and so men ready to
intervene. But the evacuation is ongoing".
