The Chinese community in
Naples has donated 22,000 euros to the Red Cross for quake
relief in central Italy, it emerged Friday.
"(Italy) is our second country, so we mobilized in response
to the appeal from the Civil Protection Department," said Naples
Chinese Retailers Association secretary Valerio Cai Zhu of the
aftermath of the 6.2-magnitude quake that killed 293 on August
24.
"It was completely natural for us to want to give a hand,"
said Giulia Jiao, who leads the Naples Chinese Trade Association
and who has been living in Italy for the past 30 years.
