Italy saw a record of more than 22.4
billion euros of tax refunds in 2023, the inland revenue agency
Agenzia delle Entrate said Tuesday.
Some 2.5 billion more disbursed to households and businesses
than in 2022, when 19.9 billion were refunded 19.9 billion
(+12%), the agency said.
Italy also posted a record for the number of payments made
directly by the agency to reimburse taxpayers: they exceeded the
threshold of 3.4 million (55 thousand more than last year), a
level never reached so far.
