A joint session of Parliament on
Thursday voted to fill four vacancies on the country's 15-member
Constitutional Court, electing as judges Francesco Saverio
Marini, Roberto Cassinelli, Massimo Luciani, Maria Alessandra
Sandulli.
The green light came with an agreement between the parties
following 14 votes for a judge and five for the other three, to
reach the necessary quorum of three-fifths of the votes.
The indication for a united vote on the four names was issued
with a text message sent to the phones of Senators and members
of the House, according to parliamentary sources.
