Paolo Sorrentino's coming-of-age drama
Parthenope and Andrea Segre's Berlinguer - The Great Ambition,
a biopic about late former Italian Communist Party leader Enrico
Berlinguer, are the films with most nominations for Italy's
David di Donatello cinema awards, bagging 15 each.
Maura Delpero's intimate epic Vermiglio, which made the
shortlist for the best international feature film for the 2025
Academy Awards but failed to win a nomination, got 14 David nods
as did Valeria Golino's L'Arte della Gioia (Art of Joy) TV
mini-series.
The 70th David di Donatello awards, Italy's equivalent of the
Oscars, take place on May 7.
