Fincantieri and Carnival Corporation &
plc have signed an agreement for the design and construction of
two new cruise ships for AIDA Cruises, a leading company in the
German-speaking cruise market, the Italian shipbuilder said
Monday.
The value of the deal exceeds two billion euros, it said.
This is the first order that AIDA Cruises has entrusted to
Fincantieri, which, according to the Italian group, "will thus
strengthen its strategic partnership with Carnival Corporation".
The two ships will be delivered at the beginning of 2030 and the
end of 2031. Each unit will have approximately 2,100 passenger
cabins and will be equipped with multi-fuel engines.
