Giuseppina Di Foggia is set to make
history after being nominated the CEO of transmission-grid
operator Terna on Thursday.
The appointment will make the 53-year-old Roman engineer the
first woman to take the helm of one of Italy's big five
State-controlled companies.
State lender CDP put forward the name of Igor De Biasi to
Terna's shareholders for the post of president.
The other big appointments were decided on Wednesday, with
former ecological transition minister Roberto Cingolani taking
over defence giant Leonardo
Flavio Cattaneo, the former CEO of Telecom Italia and director
general of State broadcaster Rai, was put in charge of power
group ENEL.
Claudio DEscalzi was given a fourth term as CEO of gas-and-oil
giant Eni, while Matteo Del Fante also held on to the top job at
Poste Italiane.
