Giorgia, Simone Cristicchi, Fedez,
Achille Lauro and Lucio Corsi were the top five most-voted
performers on the second evening of the Sanremo Song Festival
Wednesday night.
The singers were voted by a jury and by television viewers.
The second evening of 75th edition of the TV jamboree and song
contest was co-hosted by supermodel Bianca Balti, 40, with
artistic director Carlo Conti, months after she was diagnosed
with ovarian cancer last year, as well as by Cristiano
Malgioglio and Nino Frassica.
The guest star of the evening was former Maneskin frontman
Damiano David, who paid homage to iconic late songwriter and
singer Lucio Dalla with a moving rendition of his 1988 song
Felicità (Happiness).
The festival made a strong debut on its opening night Tuesday,
attracting an average of 12.6 million viewers, or 65.3% of the
audience share.
The first night of the event, which wraps up on Saturday, also
featured a video message from Pope Francis.
This year's audience includes for the first time small screen
viewers who tune in with a personal computer, smart phone or
tablet.
