A planned August 17 beach concert by Italian pop-rock-rap star Jovanotti in Vasto Marina as part of his Jova Beach Party tour was definitively cancelled by local authorities on Friday, citing safety concerns.
"The reason for the no is intertwined in absurd dynamics that turned an occasion for celebration into 'brawls'," said Jovanotti, whose real name is Lorenzo Cherubini.
"In Vasto, the 'no' front won, the one that is pervasive throughout Italy," he said.
