The Italian Embassy in Mongolia organised a conference at the Genghis Khan National Museum on the benefits of the Mediterranean diet, as part of the 9th edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World.
The conference was opened by Amb. Giovanna Piccarreta and the UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, Dr. Tapan Mishra.
Unesco, represented by Dr. Bolorchimeg Bor from the Regional Office for East Asia, illustrated the concept of the intangible heritage of humanity, focusing on the specific case of the Mediterranean diet and its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Munkhtur Togooch, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia; Prof. Purevjav Mejeenov, Nutritionist and Professor of the Department of Biotechnology and Nutrition of the National University of Science and Technology.
The Italian Cuisine Week in Mongolia will continue until 3 December in collaboration with the Shangri-La Hotel and Chef Pasquale Rinaldo.
