Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp), the leading Italian financial institution for economic development, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Kenya and the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalisation of Italian enterprises (Ita) organised yesterday in Nairobi 'Italy meets Kenya', a 'business matching' meeting on the Kenyan market.
The event, opened by the Italian ambassador, Roberto Natali, was attended by leading organisations such as the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kncci), the Kenya investments authority (Keninvest) and the Kenya private sector alliance (Kepsa). The meeting was designed to identify opportunities for collaboration between the two countries and precedes the forthcoming opening of a Cdp office in Nairobi.
Participants, including manufacturers from various sectors and Italian investors, gained valuable insights into key trends in the Kenyan market and were introduced to partnership opportunities in various sectors. The event provided a comprehensive overview of the business world in both Kenya and Italy, highlighting the market dynamics and emerging businesses in both countries. Natali, emphasised the significant business potential between Italy and Kenya and the latter's role in the stability of the region's economy.
"Kenya remains a country rich in opportunities, and it is no coincidence that it has been identified as one of the priority partners of the Italian government's Mattei Plan for Africa, not least because of its importance as a regional hub. Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the economic pillar of our development cooperation, will be intervening in the country, which can foster trade, industry, and economic growth". Natali also added that the Embassy is committed to promoting partnerships in various sectors, including export promotion, training, research, food security and environmental protection.
