To celebrate the Ninth Day of Italian Design in the World, the Italian Embassy in Zagreb, together with the Italian Cultural Institute and the local ICE Office, organised an event at the ORIS House of Architecture in the Croatian capital, featuring designer Domenico Diego, a leading representative of the prestigious Studio Otto in Milan.
Founded in 2000 by renowned architect and designer Paola Navone, the Studio counts internationally renowned brands among its clients, including Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, and Natuzzi. The initiative was moderated by designer Loic Nadal of the Croatian studio 'Brigada'. During the event, focused on this year's main theme "Inequalities. Design for a better life', Domenico Diego illustrated the work of Studio Otto, focusing in particular on the role of design in the fight against inequalities and the promotion of a sustainable lifestyle. The initiative was widely attended by the public, who showed great interest in the subject matter.
Speaking at the opening, the Italian Ambassador to Zagreb, Paolo Trichilo, recalled the commitment of the Farnesina and the Diplomatic Network in the promotion of Italian excellence in the design sector and the close link between the theme chosen this year for the Day of Italian Design in the World and that of the 24th International Exhibition-Triennale Milano (13 May-9 November 2025) dedicated to "Inequalities. How to heal the fractures of humanity'. The ambassador then dwelled on the dual objective of the Zagreb event to promote Italian style and at the same time stimulate reflection on the role of design and architecture in the dissemination of sustainable models of urban transformation and regeneration that contribute to the fight against inequalities.
