The exhibition "Mater Ceramica. Mater Ceramica. Materia viva e attuale", organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw and the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, in cooperation with the Emilia Romagna Region. Through twenty works from the MIC Faenza collection, the exhibition recounted the evolution of ceramics from the early 20th century to contemporary production.
The initiative, organised by the Italian Embassy in Warsaw, the Warsaw and Krakow IICs and the Warsaw ICE Agency, in collaboration with Confindustria Ceramica and the Faenza MIC, was opened by the institutional greetings of the Ambassador of Italy in Warsaw, Luca Franchetti Pardo. The Ambassador emphasised how ceramics emblematically represent the Italian approach to design, at once rooted in tradition and open to innovation. The Director of the MIC Faenza, Claudia Casali, also spoke, emphasising how the exhibition offered a cross-section of ceramics over time, through recognised Italian designers, in order to understand their extraordinary artistic and design liveliness.
The Mater Ceramica exhibition will now be on display at the Italian Cultural Institute of Cracow at the Bolesławiec Ceramics Museum from 11 April to 15 June.
