The Italian Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Fabrizio Lucentini, today received the directors Ferzan Ozpetek and Margherita Vicario, protagonists of the inauguration of the 11th edition of the Italian Film Week that kicked off yesterday in the Argentine capital.
The meeting was also attended by the Argentine Culture Secretary, Leonardo Cifelli, and the local distributors of the films in the festival as part of the promotion of Italian cinema also from an economic-commercial point of view.
The festival kicked off on Thursday in the Cinépolis Recoleta hall, with a welcome cocktail and the premiere presentation for Argentina and Latin America of director Ozpetek's latest celebrated work, 'Diamanti'.
The festival continues until 16 April with a playbill full of the latest films presented in Italy over the past year. These include 'Vermiglio', by Maura Delpero; 'Diva Futura' by Giulia Steigerwalt; 'Another End', by Piero Messina; 'Campo Di Battaglia' by Gianni Amelio; 'Famiglia' by Francesco Costabile; 'L'orto americano' by Pupi Avati; and 'La vita accanto' by Marco Tullio Giordana.
The initiative counts with the support of the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires, and the Foreign Trade Institute (Ice), as well as the company Cinecittà Spa.
