The Residence of the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, yesterday hosted the event 'Venetian Evening in Belgrade' organised on the occasion of the National Day of Made in Italy. The initiative, organised in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute of Belgrade and "De Gorsi Luxury Consulting" of Aleksandar Djordjevic, celebrated the craftsmanship of the Venetian sartorial tradition through the preview screening of the documentary "Il Sarto del Doge" dedicated to the life of master tailor Franco Puppato. Also present were other well-known Venetian craftsmen, not only in the textile sector (Tessitura Bevilacqua, Seguso, Merchant of Venice, Martina Vidal, Tabarro and Marisa Convento), whose creations will be the protagonists of the 'Salon of Excellence' to be held on 11 April at the Italian Cultural Institute. The evening was enriched by the performance of Francesco Meli, tenor of the 'La Fenice' theatre in Venice.
The event also marked the opening of the third edition of 'IFIB - Italian Fashion in Belgrade', the format conceived and implemented by the Embassy to promote the excellence of Italian fashion in Serbia. Once again, IFIB 2025 will be the setting for numerous initiatives dedicated to "Made in Italy" fashion, including: the event "È di scena l'alta sartoria" (Haute couture is on stage), realised in cooperation with Confartigianato and Camera Showroom Milano, the fashion show of the fashion house "Luisa Spagnoli" and the exhibition dedicated to the art of Italian jewellery "Diva!", as well as workshops and master classes with experts from Italy.
"We decided this year to celebrate National Made in Italy Day by focusing on one of the most loved and best known sectors of Italian production in the world: haute couture. We did this by promoting the Venetian tradition that offers a perfect synthesis of creativity, quality, craftsmanship and innovation," said the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori. "Fashion is also one of the sectors on which our trade promotion activities in Serbia focus," added Gori, "and in the coming weeks we will continue to dedicate ample space to it in the framework of the third edition of IFIB - Italian Fashion in Belgrade.
