Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini
has come under fire for saying the abuse some fans of the
Bergamo team directed at Juventus's Serbian forward Dusan
Vlahovic on Sunday was "rudeness" rather than racism.
Vlahovic was called a "gypsy" during the match, in which he
scored to help Juve win 2-0 and go second in Serie A.
"The statements made by Gasperini at the end of the match have
caused perplexity," Renzo Ulivieri, the president of the Italian
soccer coaches association (AIC), told Rai radio.
"If he thought about it again for a moment, he would probably
correct something".
